At present, the IWRS (2023-2024) is focused on two goals:

First, to connect people interested in insect welfare research. The listserv feature of our website, our affiliate partnerships, and our small meeting support grants will help achieve this goal.

Second, to connect stakeholders and researchers with evidence-based information on insect welfare. Building out our searchable reference library and granting support for new research on insect welfare by graduate students will help achieve this goal.

The IWRS’s long-term objective is to support a robust community of researchers and stakeholders working on insect welfare. This will involve building capacity for meetings, virtual seminars, and workshops, and mentoring or funding opportunities run either by the IWRS or by collaborating organizations.
